Student Responsibilities on this schedule include:

During Teacher's Office Hours-

Working on class assignments, communicating with teacher, participating in clubs, tutoring, small group sessions, interventions, or special education services. 

During Class Periods-

Logging in to the Learning Management System (i.e. Canvas and participating in synchronous and asynchronous lessons, assignment, and activities.

Grading Scale:  

A-90-100                   Class Participation- 10%

B-80-89                      Transition Assessments/Quizzes- 10%

Classroom Rules and Procedures:

  • Be in your seat and prepared for lesson when the bell rings. 

  • Be an active participant in all learning activities. 

  • Follow classroom electronics policy.

  • Respect school property as well as the property of your peers/teachers.​

Consequences/Order of Discipline:

  • Verbal warning

  • Teacher conference with student/job coach

  • Teacher call to parents/guardians

  • Lunch detention with teacher/job coach

  • Discipline referral to school administrator

Make Up Work Policy:

  • It is YOUR responsibility as the student to obtain all information resulting from any absence. 

  • If you are absent for any reason, you will have 5 school days from your return to make up any missing work that was assigned on the days that you were absent.  After those 5 days, any work not made up will be entered as a zero. 

  • If you are taking a lab based course, labs missed will not be exempted, they must be made up

  • Students who are in jeopardy of failing due to absences and the failure to make up missed work will require a referral to the Student Support Team.  The Student Support Team will work with students and their teachers on a plan for grade recovery.

Occupational Preparation II

Resources:

This course is designed to allow students to develop skills generic to all career majors; resource management, communication, interpersonal relationships, technology stamina, endurance, safety, mobility skills, motor skills, teamwork, sensory skills, problem solving, cultural diversity, information acquisition/management, and self-management.  This course content is focused on providing students with a repertoire of basic skills that will serve as a foundation for future career application.  Studets will expand their school-based learning activities to include on-campus jobs and work-based learning activities.  Job seek skills also will be refined.

This course is designed to allow students to continue the development and begin the application of skills learned in Occupational Preparation I and II.  Work-based learning activities are provided including community-based training, job shadowing, job sampling, internships, situational assessment, cooperative education, and apprenticeships.  These work-based activities allow students to apply employability skills to competitive employment settings and demonstrate the effectiveness of their work personality.  Multiple opportunities for leadership development and self-determination are provided. 

Course Description:  This course gives students the opportunity to synthesize all the skills acquired in previous Occupational Preparation courses and apply them to their personal career choice.  This course allows students to solve work-related problems experienced in competitive employment, practice self-advocacy skills and master the theoretical and practical aspects of their career choice.  Students will develop a job placement portfolio that provided an educational and vocational record of their high school experience.
